The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), forecasting a heatwave in the upcoming week, stated Tuesday the temperature in Karachi got 40.2°C, with 49% humidity.

The PMD, in a report, stated: “Mostly hot and dry climate is likely throughout the week due to which heatwave situations are expected in extremely plain regions of the country.” 

Sindh, Southern Punjab, and Eastern and Southern Balochistan will stay in the sway of extremely hot and dry weather from Tuesday to Saturday, it stated.

“Temperatures are also expected to increase in most sub-mountainous areas of the country,” it said, adding that dust-raising gusts are likely in Sindh and Balochistan during the cycle.

“Day temperatures are likely to stay above normal (04-06°C) in most plain areas,” it added.
