The UK has introduced a one-point immigration system entitled as “Student Route and Child Student Route” to provide educational facilities to foreign students in their country’s educational institutions, starting from October 5.

Earlier in the last decade, a large number of students from Pakistan used to go to the UK to get a 2-year visa after completing their studies, which they could easily work on.

Background

This immigration system was abolished by the government formed in the UK in 2010 after which the chances of students from Pakistan going to the UK on student visas were reduced.

Under the new policy, the brightest students from around the world will be given the opportunity to come to the UK and by 2030, 600,000 students will be issued visas annually.

There are 70 points in the point system out of which 10 points are required for your financial resources, 10 points for mastering the English language and for this you have to take IELTS test. Third is the need to successfully complete your education and show your educational qualifications after which you will be eligible to apply for a work visa.

There are 50 points for applying for a hard-working academic career and then applying for permanent residency, after which a student will be eligible to enroll in the process.
