Dr. Noam Chomsky to deliver a lecture at Habib University

It is no astonishing that Habib University’s Yohsin talks, a significant occasion organized in the honor of their annual graduating group, are always one to make headlines. Habib University of Karachi, in its 6th Yohsin Lecture sequence this year, has planned a conference with worldwide famous philosopher, social critic, and political activist Noam Chomsky. According to the varsity’s head of marketing and communications, Aqsa Junejo, the 91-year-old Chomsky confirmed his virtual manifestation at the occasion. “The date is yet to be confirmed and will be broadcasted in the coming week.”

While last year Reza Aslan, author of world’s best-seller “No God But God” made it to Karachi, this year fascinating the addressees with his vivid virtual lecture, will be none other than Dr Noam Chomsky.

American linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist, historian, social critic, and political activist, Chomsky as per The New York Times, is arguably the “most significant rational alive.” Chomsky is also a major figure in analytic philosophy, and is one of the founders of the field of cognitive science.

His address will be entitled “Bullet dodged or merely delayed: Reflections on the future of democracy, nuclear threat and the looming environmental catastrophe in a post Trumpian world,” and will be accessible to the broad public on 7th of December, 2020 at 6:15 PM Pakistan Standard Time(PST).

Having authored around 100 books oscillating from linguistics to etymology to politics to mass media in his long and memorable career, Noam Chomsky is now serving as a Laureate Lecturer at the University of Arizona, and Institute Professor Emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
