Violation of U.S. domestic and international laws

Certain authorities, involving the United Nations special rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, counted the assassination of Soleimani as a possible violation of U.S. domestic and international laws.

The contemporary Middle East has seen a number of incidents in which the high-level government and military figures were targeted and assassinated.
