LAHORE/PESHAWAR: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan have lowered their routine interactions after numerous personnel of the chief minister homes of both provinces resulted confirmed for coronavirus.

Spokespersons within the Punjab CM house told that two employees had caught coronavirus and lost their souls a only some days ago. Among them, disclosed informants, were a protocol officer and a waiter.

The officials also verified that almost 16 officials of the Punjab CM House have been diagnosed with the coronavirus in the last several days. 

A representative of Punjab CM House told Buzdar will only conduct crucial meetings and appointments at his office. He added that there was a prohibition enforced on routine visits due to the widespread condition of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Six workers of KP CM House resulted positive.

Individually, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Kamran Bangash corroborated that six employees of the KP CM House have tested positive for coronavirus.

Bangash told that the CM’s discussions with elected representatives have been halted, adding that the chief minister will conduct discussions and meetings through video link.

Punjab and KP have been the epicenter of the third wave of coronavirus pandemic that has knocked Pakistan.

To reduce the virus propagate, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has declared a full ban on conducting wedding events— both enclosed and open-air — starting April 5, in regions that have a three-day rotating average of an 8% positivity percentage.

The NCOC had said that the administration is also considering the possibilities of more curbs on inter-provincial travelling.
